To Tablet or Not to Tablet…

That seems to be a question many are pondering these days. As someone who has not only studied time management but trained, educated and lived by time management principles, I was a little hesitant to forgo my hybrid method of handling tasks, which included using an old-fashioned, paper day planner.

When Palm Pilots came out, my employer at the time required management to use one; I hated it!  Here is what I learned:

-Any time management system MUST fit you, your needs and your style.

With that in mind, I researched and reviewed tablets. I  was pleased to find that they have the best of the Palm Pilot and the best of a day planner, all in one.  They also have so much more!  Besides organizing and tracking “to do” lists, they sync your calendar, allow access to the Internet, hook up to all social media sites and can keep you busy with app shopping!

For those wondering if a tablet is right for them, consider the usage.  If you simply want a cool gadget to download apps, a smartphone can do that.  But, if like me, you want to streamline your business and basically bring your office with you when you travel, a tablet is ideal.  Technology and the hype around it can lead people to impulse purchases.  I certainly took my time and am the last person on earth to say I was using a day planner until a month ago.  What says you?
