Information Overload occurs by our own choice, however. It happens when we don’t make daily conscious decisions to control it and don’t regularly “purge” it from our files, computers, desks, in baskets and briefcases.
We can conquer the mountain of information overload by minimally
handling it when it comes.
Keep your paperwork N.E.A.T.
N=Needs action NOW. Urgent and important, so take care of it today.
E=Essential. Urgent but not important, so keep it handy.
A=Arrange it in a file because it is not urgent but it may be important for future refence.
T=Toss it NOW not later! It is neither urgent or important. Get rid of it.
